Uh oh is I'm sure the only thing that comes to mind after reading this title! It's amazing to me still, that while everyone in the house is catered to hand and foot, day in and day out-a short stint for Mama to be out ill is practically inconceivable to everyone around. While my Hubby is quite the doting husband and father, the world pretty much caves in when I am couch-ridden. In a matter of moments (okay, I will be honest-maybe after one full day), 3 kids, dishes, dinner, lunches, laundry, homework, soccer, dance and church become his task...and his task alone. OMG! What to do? Where to start with the mess? Granted, I have a fairly solid plan of attack for most daily tasks and our routine is finite and not something to be messed with. BUT, on those rare occasions Mama too does need a time out--even if it is for something legitimate like being sick.
I will say this- He rose to the task at hand! Maybe not with the grace and composure that I had hoped for, but nevertheless.
My question is though...do these days not make men appreciate what we do a tad bit more? Does it help them to understand that there is in fact a reason for the things we do and that the HOW is just as important! Sometime my honey looks at me like I am insane when I say, "baths are for after dinner, not before." Even if dinner is late. Or, "No the kids may not have a snack while dinner is cooking," or "Loppy is naked, I know" (and do not mess with my potty training processes)!
Rant done! BUT, after a week of being down and out I appreciate the hubby more than ever...and he just might appreciate me a little more now too. :)
