The Hubster and I have been talking about just this for quite some time. When to put girls in gymnastic, dance, soccer...when to start play dates, music lessons and even preschool. I don't know if there is a perfect answer to this question, but I would sure like to hear your thoughts. "J" started football last fall and is continuing to play this year...following by basketball season and then baseball in the spring. Not to mention weekly Awana's night at church. So...Tallulah will turn four in just a few short months. She begins dance (one night a week)-ballet and tap and then soccer starts at the beginning of September (again, just one day a week)...same thing for church night. Am I expecting too much from a soon to be 4 year old? Or, will these extra activities bring a way to express all of this energy that she seems to have? Then there is Loppy...should I feel guilty that I have yet to register her for activities? Should I put our 2 year old into a gymnastic tumble with mommy class? Music lessons? In this day and age, sometime I feel like we put too much pressure on our kids to make sure that they NEVER miss out on any opportunity...but is it okay for them to just stay little for a while? Or is it good for them to socialize and have activities outside of what Mommy & Daddy have for them. The Hubster and I have always been very active people and want the kids to grow up the same way...but when is too much--too much? | |
